Artists living within the Lehigh Valley* are invited to submit artwork for consideration to the 9th annual Compendium juried exhibition, which will feature a wide range of styles and mediums celebrating small works! (2023's small works show was so popular, we are bringing this back!) This exhibition is open to artists who work in any medium, so long as the finished piece is no larger than 12" in either direction (including any framing for 2-D work). ArtsQuest is partnering with Lafayette College in Easton, PA to bring our Compendium exhibition to the Grossman Gallery space.

The annual Compendium exhibitions are designed to highlight the thriving art community of the Lehigh Valley and region and to showcase the diverse array of multidisciplinary artists who reside there.

Awards (Will be announced at the opening Reception:)

  • 3rd Place – $50

Compendium: Small Works II Juried Exhibition is juried by Ricardo J Reyes, Director of Galleries and Curator of Collections, Lafayette College, Easton, PA

Dr. Reyes oversees the activities of the Williams Center Gallery, Grossman Gallery, Kirby Art Study Center, and Art on Campus at Lafayette College. In addition, he co-chairs the Lehigh Valley 250 organizing committee.

Rico is an artist, a curator, and a cultural theorist. His art employs the idioms of performance, video, and installation while addressing issues of ethnicity, sexuality, and global politics. His curating is focused on contemporary art from diasporic Filipino communities; effects of mega-exhibitions and art fairs; photography and cultural regeneration, and has curated exhibitions at the Orange County Museum of Art, UCLA Fowler Museum; SF MOMA Artist Gallery; University of the Pacific Reynolds Gallery; Thacher Gallery at the University of San Francisco; Queer Cultural Center; Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center; SoMA Arts Center; and Michaela Gallery, Remy’s at Temple Gallery, Los Angeles; Puro Arte Gallery and Performance Space, Los Angeles.

Rico received his BA in Sculpture from the University of California at Berkeley and his MFA in New Genres from UCLA, his Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, and his Ph.D. from the Centre for Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. He has served on the board of many nonprofit organizations including ArtsQuest, Five Points Center for the Arts, Bushnell Park Foundation, Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, and Hartford Opera Theater.
