10 Week Class

Tuesdays, March 25-May 27 | 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Designed for students at all levels, this class will explore Wheelthrown bowls and cylinders that will develop beyond the base shape. Students will learn techniques to make bowls, vases, and other functional ware of different sizes and shapes. The last 2 weeks of class will be dedicated to glazing work. East student is allotted a 50lb bag of clay with the cost of the class, additional clay is subject to availability.

Asha Serra is a mother to three very cool kids, a wife, and an artist. Her love for clay started in high school, but she didn't take it seriously until she was well into college. Asha received a BFA and a MFA in ceramics from Montclair State University. Soon after graduating, she became an adjunct professor of ceramics at MSU. After teaching for 4-5 years, she decided to grow her family. Currently, she is teaching private lessons at her home and working on her own art. Her work currently focuses on wheel thrown decoration and functional ware.

Location Information:
The ArtsQuest Warehouse is located at 1801 Union Blvd, Allentown PA 18109 in Suite G. Entrance and parking are located in the back of the building, accessible by N Sherman Street. The entrance door is accessible via stairs or a ramp from the parking lot.
